Horse Trailer Assist - for your trailer
RAC members with 'Recovery' included in their cover can join ESS Horse Trailer Assist membership for just £45.00 per annum. This can be added at any time during your RAC membership. In a breakdown situation, RAC will take care of your vehicle while ESS look after the well-being of your horses. In addition to the normal RAC membership entitlements, Horse Trailer Assist gives you:-
- Recovery of your trailer to your original destination or home, whichever is nearest.
- Onward transportation of you or your groom and your horses to any UK destination, or recovery to a local stable if preferred (includes the cost of one night's livery).
- Access to all ESS emergency services, including emergency veterinary attendance.
Traveller - for your horsebox
ESS 'Traveller' membership will recover you, your horses and your horsebox from an emergency far from home.
Emergency Breakdown Support includes:-
- Call out and attendance of an agent for breakdown and tyre failure.
- If the vehicle cannot be repaired at the roadside, the following services immediately become available:-
1. Recovery of your vehicle to the nearest suitable garage or to your home address, whichever is nearest.
2. Replacement horse transport to any destination.
3. If you are far from home and your vehicle can be repaired overnight, you can opt for overnight accommodation for you, your horse and your groom.

- 24-hour emergency access to equine vets.
At Home
As an Optional Extra for 'Traveller' members, ESS 'At Home' offers a 'get-you-going' service within one mile of the address where your horsebox is normally kept. Exclusive benefits include:-
- Call out and attendance of a repair agent for breakdown or a tyre specialist for tyre failure.
- Recovery of your vehicle to the nearest agreed repairer.
Long Distance Recovery
As an Optional Extra for Traveller members, ESS 'Long Distance Recovery' provides upgraded horsebox recovery. Instead of your vehicle being recovered to an agreed repairer or home, whichever is nearest, it can be recovered to any destination within the UK.
Traveller Plus
The ultimate breakdown support package. ESS 'Traveller Plus' membership provides all the benefits of 'Traveller' membership, plus:-
- ‘At Home’ breakdown and tyre failure services.
- ESS ‘Long Distance Recovery’ services.
- Emergency horse transport automatically placed on standby.
